Paranormal Investigators at the Cottage
Well we had an interesting weekend with several Halloween parties and a visit to the Day Lily Cottage from the Stockyards Paranormal Investigators (SPI). They setup their equipment and spent a whole night in total darkness thoroughly investigating whether there is any paranormal activity on Olive Street.
The team said that although they did not experience anything first hand they were excited to go back to their office and review their recorders for any Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP).
We are looking forward to reading their full report and seeing whether the Day Lily Cottage does indeed contains any other worldly inhabitants!

A New Site Design!!!
Well we finally finished our new website design with an emphasis on keeping the site looking consistent with smoother transitions between the Texas Artwork, Texas Giftbaskets and Texas Gifts. We still need to finish updating our product catalog but our store front has a new look and we’re really pleased with it!
We’ve had to cut back on our advertising budget for October due to a slow start to the fall but we’re hoping that our new look Texas Giftshop website will keep people coming back to check on our latest gifts.

Lightning Never Strikes Twice in the Same Place?!!
Well it appears that the old adage is not entirely true. Less than three days after finding a stray dog and reuniting him with his owner, IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
This morning I found an old chocolate colored lab mix called Hershey on the street near my house. After calling and leaving a message with his owner I drove to get a coffee and then found a local veterinary clinic. They kindly took him in and agreed to keep calling the owner.
I just called the clinic and they said that the old boy was just re-united with his very happy owner. I’m becoming known as “The Dog Rescuer!”
Anyway, I was late into work but it was all worth it…. I just hope someone would do the same for our dogs if they ever get loose!

Another Lost Dog Re-united
So I was driving to get some cash out of the local drive through ATM and I saw another dog running loose. At first I thought maybe someone was just walking him off the leash but my curiosity got the better of me and I turned the truck around to go take a second look.
Driving back down the street I couldn’t see him so I turned around again and that was when I spotted the small white dog laid down in some long grass. I pulled over to the side of the street and called him, he immediately rolled over and as I approached him it was obvious that he was a very tame dog.
After scratching his belly for a while I felt comfortable that he was not a “biter” and scooped the small husky like puppy up and put him in the passenger seat of my truck.
His collar had a tag and I found that his name was “Snoball” and that there was a phone number and address! I thought I had struck gold, most strays that we find do not have a collar or identification.
I called the number but was dissappointed when an answering machine clicked on. I left my message and decided to try and find the address which was simply a house number and street name.
By pure fluke I managed to find the street nearby and located the house which unfortunately looked like no-one was home.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, the owner eventually got my message after returning from his sons football game and a very happy family got their little bundle of joy back.
It was by far one of the most productive Saturday mornings I have had for a while!
